Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distribution materials, equipment, and supplies in the organization. Duties include: develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service; designs, implements, manages and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements; recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct; prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices; reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy; prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications; oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity; arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Directly supervises two employees in the Purchasing Department.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related degree; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to read mechanical drawings.
Occasional travel to vendor and customer sites, among others, required.

Inspects purchased and manufactured products for defects and conformance to quality standards and engineering drawings. Duties include: Inspects manufactured and purchased products, performs first piece inspection, handles in-process inspection, and completes various inspection reports and ensures that proper documentation is made.
Must be proficient in the use of a variety of precision measuring equipment, including all standard hand/surface plate equipment & CMM. Ability to interpret blueprints. Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing. Knowledge of and the ability to use sampling plans (mil std. 105). Machining experience and/or formal training in mechanical inspection and/or quality control preferred. Experience with MM4 and PC-DMIS preferred.
